I have attended 5/6 of the Hangout Music Festivals. Being a local, it’s like a big party with great people in your backyard. What could be better? Thousands of people come from all across the world to experience this. Some have never even seen the beach before. Hangout Fest is a non-camping festival, although they do have camping spots around Gulf Shores where people pitch their tents for the weekend and live off grid. It’s pretty awesome. Other than that, many of the visitors stay in beach houses or condominiums. Also, there is no parking at the festival. They sell shuttle passes and there is parking all around the festival grounds (people’s beach houses, businesses, etc.). Let’s be real… bicycles are the most fun.

We all love the summertime… but the heat is about as real as Lebron James. So, ALWAYS STAY HYDRATED! A huge shout out to CamelBak for keeping our dancing bodies hydrated all weekend with the most refreshing H20.

One of my only disappointments in Hangout Fest is that they do not allow totems. Have you ever gotten completely lost from your friend like “WHERE’S CARL”? We all have. Although getting lost by yourself is a super awesome adventure… sometimes it’s more comforting to know you can go right back to your home base. It’s the most creative and best way to know where your friends are! I love going to festivals that allow totems and seeing all of the creativity and time put into these.

Here’s a picture of our group Friday night with our “Mad Decent Boat Party” flag.

Hangout Fest is truly one of my favorite festivals from the Thursday kick-off party to the always so beautiful Sunday sunset.
